The Acting National Chairman of the All Progresve Congress, Sen Abiola, has summoned all the stakeholder of the APC to continue to sustain peace.
Ajimobi said this on Tuesdays night after the APC NWC named him acting National Chairman of the Party
He was named the acting National Chairman following following an Appeal court ruling upholding the suspension of the substantive chairman, Adams Oshiomole
Ajimobi made this public in a statement signed by his Special Adviser, Communication and strategy, Bolaji Tunji and made available to newsmen in Abuja on Wednesday
Reading the statement in part ” Senator Ajimobi took over the leadership of the party in line with section 14 subsection 3 of the APC constitution that States that, the Deputy National Chairman shall act as the National Chairman in the absence of the National chairman from his zone”.
It also quoted the Acting National Chairman further saying that the would be National Executive Council meeting soon to resolve all the factious issues.
Ajimobi said “we should let peace reign until the NEC meeting takes place on the way forward”.
The Acting National Chairman who took over as the Deputy National Chairman in march 2020 when NWC wrote a letter to the Southwest to nominate Candidate for the Vacant Position, after the position became vacant as Otunba Niyi Adebayo became a Minister
Six states supports the Appointment of Sen Ajimobi, the states are Oyo, Ondo, Osun, Ogun and Lagos, leaving Ekiti alone protesting the nomination.
It remains invisible whether Ajimobi who is reportedly receiving treatment at a Health care in Lagos will be at the Secretariat Party today.
