

The south south App progressive Congress (APC) Vice chairman, prince Hilliard Etta filled in as the ruling party’s acting National Chairman.
Confusion has set in the party following the Appeal Courts declaration that upheld the suspension of Comrade Adams Oshiomole as the Party’s National Chairman on Tuesday.
Etta subbed as the Acting National Chairman, and appointed IMO State Governor, Hope Uzodinma as the Edo primary Election chairman.
The National Working Committee led by Eta also declared the office of the Deputy National Secretary of the party vacant, which was previously occupied by Chief Victor Giadom.
However, following an emergency meeting on Wednesday, the National Working Committee (NWC) of the APC elucidate the apparent confusion regarding the new leadership of the party
The NWC of the APC in a statement signed by its National Secretary, Lanre Issa, affirmed former Oyo state governor , Sen Abiola Ajimobi as the party’s authentic Acting National Chairman.
The party explains further, that due to Ajimobi’s unavoidable absence, “the NWC in agreement appointed the party’s National Vice Chairman (South-South), Prince Hilliard Eta to act.
He said replacing Ajimobi is backed by the APC party’s Constitution which allows the NWC to appoint one of its members in an acting capacity and stipulate that the Acting National Chairman must be from the Zone of the National Chairman.
