An anonymous resident in Ekpoma, Edo state has disclose to Naija Exhibit on the scarcity of water in the town, due to dry land.
He said, “In this town if you want to organize a ceremony, you have to book a tanker of water two weeks before the ceremony commence,
“During the dry season those who sell water might refuse to bring water to anyone who does not dance to their tune of inflated prices, when I had my first child, I couldn’t buy water faster, sachet water was the only option available to bathe my new born child.
“Other residents in the town who can not afford well water due to the high cost rate have to dig a water reservoir, buy a tank at N15,000 only and store the water for their daily use.
“We all know water is essential in every day’s activity, We are begging the Edo State Government to kindly help us in this terrible situation.”
Our correspondent who scout round the town also confirmed there are large wells dug for water reservations.
