Nigeria President, Muhammadu Buhari has felicitated with all Nigerians, most especially the Christians on the occasion of Christmas 2020.
In a Statement released on Friday 25th December 2020, the president recognized the different challenges the country is facing at this recent time.
He talked about the rising spate of armed robbery, Kidnappings, Insurgency, economic recession and the increase in Covid-19 infectons.
what did the president say ?
“Under my watch” The federal goverment will continue to provide the support needed based on resources that’s on ground to the gallant members of our armed forces and security agencies as they are dealing with threats.
The president asked the security agencies to do more to checkmate the rise of insecurity, most especially in the north.
The president said he’s hopeful that the country will leave the recession as soon as possible.
He also acknowledged that truly there is hardship in the country because of the pandemic
He said “We will do everything possible to fully implement the 2021 Budget of Economic Recovery and Resilience.”
As the country is experiencing the second wave of the Covid-19 infection, President Muhammadu Buhari ask all citizens and resident to follow the safety guidelines that the authorities have outlined as they celebrate Christmas with families and friends.
President Buhari said his administration will deliberately target the youths, so that they will not fall into the trap of unpatriotic elements that wants to cause calamity in the country.
he said as the right to peaceful association and protest is guaranteed, his administration will not fold hands and watch protest that has good intentions turn to killing of security personnel or destruction of private and national assets.
